Practice Writing

I would like to thank Susie Shy of the Susieshy45 blog for nominating me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Susie is a mother and writer whose writing is bright and shiny. I continue to be inspired by her journey. You should follow her blog. I am very honored a fellow blogger finds my blog inspiring. It is ironic since my motives for starting it were self-serving; to create a writing platform.

The Rules

1. Thank the blogger who nominated you. (Done.)

2. List the rules and display the award. (Done. What the heck does display the award mean? One Google search later…. Done.)

3. Share seven facts about yourself. (This requires some thought.)

4. Nominate (15) other amazing blogs and comment on their blog to let them know you nominated them. (Working)

7 Things about me

I have three cats, Scooter, Daisy and Mystery. Three girls, three recuses.

(Scooter hates my singing.)

In September of 2014 I won a guitar at a fundraiser for The Downriver Central Animal Control Shelter, a local shelter near my hometown in Michigan. It has been 10 months and I can play, “The City of New Orleans,” and “Secondhand Rose.” Don’t worry, I did not post a video of myself playing and singing.

I have three dogs; Indiana Jones, a Jack Russell Terrier born in 1998; Merlin a black standard Poodle and GG a Rhodisian Ridgeback/Old English sheepdog mix. GG is a puppy in this short video. I think you will be able to spot Merlin.

(That is my brother, Paulfranks performing Johnny Cash’s, “Folsom Prison Blues.” Paul is a well-known performer in the Cleveland, Ohio, area.)

When I met Harrison Ford I said, “I have a dog named Indiana.” He said, ” Huh?” And then I had to explain.

I write another blog: The Rube Cook; a writer who does not know how to cook starts a cooking blog–hilarity ensues. If you know how to graze, but not how to braise, this blog’s for you.

As soon as it unfreezes, I plan to walk the shore of Lake Erie collecting smooth stones to sell as thinking stones or brain training stones on Etsy. Right now I am concocting an old Potawatomi legend to go with it. It will be the Pet Rock of the 21st Century. Counting my millions…

I am five feet seven inches tall and wear size nine shoes.

15 Very Inspiring blogs

Um..a…okay…clears throat…Is this on?….I have nominated you for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. If you choose to accept, which I hope you will, you need to follow 4 rules. 1. Thank the blogger who nominated you. 2. List the rules and display the award (Not sure how to display the award? Google Very Inspiring Blogger Award, pick one you like, save it/download it to your computer, upload to WordPress. Place in text or image widget or embed in post or both). 3. Share seven facts about yourself. 4. Nominate (15) other amazing blogs and comment on their blog to let them know you nominated them. Good luck in your blogging endeavors.

Curvylou: Eighteen Months – on a eighteen month break from the riggers of a forty-hour work week, Stephanie starts a blog in January of 2015, knits, crochets, learns to prep fibers and spin her own yarn.  She also learns to weave and to dye.  She is a very inspiring person and reading her blog is a mini-vacation into another world.

Faraday’s Candle is a fun blog written from the point of view of two grade-school sisters as they explore the world and learn about science and history. It is a fun blog that provides a fresh perspective and interesting facts.

In Other Words is written by a blogger I know as Other Mary (What a great name!). She is a great blogging friend and is always there with an inspiring comment or word of encouragement. I like her writing; it is authentic and funny. Stop-by her blog and see what I mean. She is the Queen of Quotes.

In Other’s Words… This was the first blog I followed when I joined WordPress. I stumbled on it glancing through Freshly Pressed. I followed it because this post “He Wrote it Down” is one of the most honest, moving pieces I have read on the net.

Rebecca Colours is a painter who works in water color and oil and other media. Her work is lyrical and inspiring. A picture is worth a thousand words; you have to see it.

lily pup’s life – Lily pup is a brave blogger writing about her very personal struggle with bipolar disorder. This blog will help many people.

The TJ Blog is written by a college student whose college life hacks will have you exclaiming out loud, “That’s brilliant!” I can’t wait to read about the backpacking trip across Europe this summer. His writing makes me jealous. Oh, and he is very cute.

Jarbrush213 written by Jen from Connecticut, who an interesting writer. She is true to her faith and has an interesting way of promoting “girl power.” Jen is very supportive of her blogging friends.

Runnerwithablog Not being a runner, you would think I would not follow a running blog, that is what I thought. But this blog is about more than running, it is about personal commitment and the daily struggle with it. Plus, there is just something about the writing I like. Then I learned, Samantha, the blog’s creator is also a writer. I love reading her fiction on fictionwriterwithablog

Creative Life is a lifestyle blog that is both fun to read and fun to look at. The writer is very supportive of her fellow bloggers. I am always happy to see a comment from her. Her social media buttons are awsome sauce.

Homemade Naturally is a natural living blog written by my blogging buddy, Donna. It is an interesting blog, but I thought she took it to another level with this humanity re-affirming story, “A Miracle Happened.”

The Chaotic Life of the Toad is written by a self confessed craft-o-holic mum who, despite seemingly impossible obstacles, manages to write interesting and inspiring blog post. I like to stop by just to see what The Toad is up to now.

Penny’s Space and Motivating Giraffe  are both written by Penny Redshaw  a 21-year-old “Australian University student/office lady” living in Queensland, Australia, who likes drawing giraffes. Her drawings are so full of character it awes me every time I visit Penny’s Space; this is my favorite. When I need a giggle break, I pop over to her other blog, Motivating Giraffe.

Wow! is this a lot of work! Just kidding. I am truly honored.

I understand. I think these things are the chain letters of the blogosphere, but I’ll play along. At least look at the post to see why I nominated you.

    Cyn,
As to chain letters I am not sure but it truly is a way to connect and the one who is nominated has a feeling of warmth towards the one who did and that does make a lot of difference.
Thank you for accepting and I am going to look into your other blog too !
