I am re-blogging the Create-a-Character article because I plan to publish one on Character Bubbles or The Bubble Method as I refer to it in the article. I am doing this because I believe new writers or writers who struggle with character should start with Create-a-Character. Not many writers understand the Character Bubbles or find them helpful.
Character – the aggregate of features and traits that form the individual nature of some person or thing.
Not a bad definition, actually. The trick is to make those traits appear to come from a life lived and serve a story.
Severing the story while seeming to be real life is a trick all writers perform. This article is will focus on creating a living, breathing character who has lived a life.
